Fourways, Lonehill and the estates
Fourways, Lonehill, Dainfern and the cluster and estate developments around them. Paving here often has to satisfy a homeowners' association as well as a homeowner.
Roodepoort and the West Rand
Roodepoort, Constantia Kloof, Wilgeheuwel, Florida and the West Rand. Ground conditions here are documented, varied and important to any paving quote.
Midrand
Midrand, Halfway House, Kyalami and the newer estates between Johannesburg and Centurion. Larger plots, newer homes and some of the most competitive paving prices in the metro.
Edenvale and Bedfordview
Edenvale, Bedfordview, Kempton Park and Germiston. Established suburbs with older driveways, and a part of Gauteng where ground conditions deserve a question.
Why location matters for paving
Two identical driveways can have very different lives in Johannesburg. In the granite country of Sandton, Randburg and Fourways, the soil can change across a single sloping stand. Northcliff is a ridge of West Rand Group rock rather than granite, so steep stands make excavation and levels the main questions. On the dolomite of parts of the West Rand and the East Rand, water must be kept away from the ground under the paving. And across the city, summer thunderstorms test every fall and drain.
